Spanish violist Guillermo Franco, has appeared at the Auditorio Nacional in Madrid, Laeiszhalle Hamburg, the Berlin Philharmonie and Konzerthaus, and participated in the Accademia Chigiana di Siena, the Berlin Young Euro Classics Festspiele, Le Diecigiornate di Brescia in Italy with the Berlin Chamber Soloists, the Concert Series at the Gabarron Foundation in Murcia, the Kurt Pahlen Festival in Switzerland with members of the Orpheus Quartet, performing at the Casals Festival with artist such as Boris Garlitsky, Mihaela Martin, Phillipe Muller and Felicity Lott.
Born into a family of artists, he received his first viola lessons at the age of seven in his hometown of Murcia, Spain.
After pre-college studies with Darling Dyle, Antonio Clares and Emile Cantor, he moved to Berlin to study with Hartmut Rohde and the Artemis Quartet at the University of the Arts.
For that period, he was awarded multiple scholarships by the Ministerio de Cultura de España, Madrid, the Consejería de Cultura de Murcia, and the Basler Versicherungen in Switzerland.
He later pursued studies with Berent Korfker at the Royal College of Music in London, where he was an ABRSM scholar. Since 2006 he has the opportunity to play on a beautiful viola by Stephan von Baehr, Paris.
